Chiplet-Knight: Secure Chiplet-Based Architecture Research
KSIS Lab research includes secure chiplet-based architectures and reduced trusted computing base designs.
Chiplet-Knight is a research direction within KSIS Lab focused on secure chiplet-based computing architectures. The project explores how disaggregated hardware designs — in which a processor is composed of multiple heterogeneous chiplets — can be made trustworthy while reducing the overall trusted computing base.
The work addresses integrity verification, inter-chiplet communication security, and the design of lightweight security support units suitable for chiplet environments. This direction is led by Dr. Abbas A. Fairouz and builds on his broader interests in secure computer architecture and heterogeneous computing.
